I bought these on sale from Lenovo’s site directly as well (watch Deal Catcher .com) for twenty bucks. I’d say the sound quality is very good, probably a bit brighter than the other reviewers are used to, but that’s because most sound set ups these days are set up for warmth and bass, these actually have really nice clarity, especially for the price. The person who couldn’t get further than 10′ probably has some kind of wireless interference that’s giving them problems, which is pretty common these days with all the wireless devices, I was able to get across to the other side of my house. One bedroom was fine, the other one I had trouble because the furnace is on the ground floor between my room and my computer on the other end of the house. These don’t have a lot of punch and low end, but you can hear the bass notes. I just put on the computer mixers bass boost and that helped warm things up a bit. Anyway, if you’re in this price range (sub $100), I’d say these are great wireless headphones. I’ll be interested to see how long the battery goes for on a charge, maybe I’ll check back in later. One complaint I have is that having the USB charging cord plugged in when I booted up gave my PC fits, it needs to be unplugged, so I would suggest getting an AC/USB adapter like what you get with smartphones these days and use that for charging rather than on the computer. I wasn’t sure if these were a four or five star, but considering the price, I’d definitely say five, leaning that way to help balance out what I think are some unfair, knee jerk reviews.

    All around sub-par headset, September 12, 2012

I got this headset on a sale, and decided to take the plunge although there were no reviews that I could find any where. I am not happy with this headset.

First: The audio quality sounds like you are wearing tin cans on your ears. I bought these to replace a wired pair that might be failing soon (audio goes out when the cord is jiggled), so I was wearing my old set when I switched. I switched between headsets and can easily tell you that these are horrid, especially if you listen to HD audio.

Microphone: I often chat with friends from across the country and they constantly complained about the microphone quality. Switching back to my older headset, it was instantly better. Their main complaint was that it sounded very muffled, almost like a pillow over my mouth.

Wireless: By 10 meter distance, I think they meant 10 feet. Even 6 feet away and the headset’s audio/mic would start cutting out. Most noticeable again when chatting. I tested it with full line of sight and it would still cut out about 10′.

Comfort: These are actually very comfortable. Soft padding that doesn’t apply much pressure. Important over the long haul, as some can give me a headache after a while.

Battery Life: I honestly couldn’t stand the audio/mic quality enough to even test the longevity. After the initial 12-24 charge, these were still working the 4 hours I could stand to use them.

I don’t know why the reviews are generally so low but I think this headset is good for its price. I’m satisfied with the sound quality and the battery life is ok. Also, it’s comfortable to wear. This is definitely a good choice if you are looking for a wireless headset under 30 bucks.

I bought this upgrade to the 2 x 2GB sticks in my Mid-2010 Macbook Pro 15″ i5. I had no compatibility issues and it produced a very noticeable speed boost. If you feel your Mac is in need of more memory, I would recommend the following to know if your RAM is the issue: Open Utilities folder -> Open “Activity Monitor” -> Click the tab at the bottom labeled “System Memory” -> Just below that, you should see a few sets of data…The important ones are:

“Free” : If your “Free” memory is low (or 0!) you probably need more memory.
“Page Outs” : If the “Page Outs” is high, this means that your computer is using hard disk rather than RAM for memory functions and produces a severe loss in speed.
“Swap Used” : This gives a rough estimate of how much hard disk is used for RAM. This will give you a rough idea of how much RAM you should add. i.e. if this is 4 GB, then you should add at least 4 GB.

You should check these numbers while doing the types of activities you normally use your computer for. Not just at idle with nothing running!

As far as this item goes, Crucial is a known Apple-friendly RAM and is unlikely to give you any issues. It is also a high quality manufacturer and is much more reliable than some cheaper brands. Remember, RAM is dirt cheap these days so don’t save a few $$ to buy inferior quality RAM! You should just not buy any if you are going to buy a terrible brand.

For people with a Macbook Pro, install is quite easy. You can find many manuals on the internet (I prefer iFixit). Don’t be intimidated buy installing it. You can save a lot of money by doing it yourself. If you feel uncomfortable, then by all means have someone qualified to do it for you.

My late 2008 aluminum unibody macbook was frustratingly slow. By upgrading from 2GB to 4GB RAM, I have noticed a signifigant improvement, and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. Installing the RAM requires a very small phillips screwdriver and possibly a pair of needle nose pliers to pull out the existing RAM (depends on your dexterity).

FYI: Despite Apple’s claims, 8GB of RAM WILL work in the late 2008 unibody aluminum macbook, according to several reputable articles I’ve seen. (Just in case 4GB isn’t enough for you)

Brought this for my 6 year old Macbook. It was cheaper here than on Crucial’s site plus the Prime free shipping made it a no brainer. Very easy to install.
