exciting.. Who the hell paid you to even think about it??? Windows 8 is a
    total wreck!

    Great review!
I am sure windows 8 and windows 8.1 is great for tablet users and for
people using devices with touch technology BUT I was sort of hoping
Microsoft would have redesigned 8.1 to be more like windows 7, with the
same desktop set ups and themes that windows 7 and prior versions of
windows had but sadly it seems I am out of luck.
I am sure the new desktop background color theme option may be exciting to
many users but there is nothing really that exciting, or orgasmic, about
that feature at all and the fact an icon looks like it’s floating is not
that big of an improvement, at least to me anyway.
It WOULD be a HUGE improvement if Microsoft made a new version of windows
today that is similar to windows 7 for desk top computers, with all the
familiar features and icons we all know and love, and keep versions of
windows 8 and 8.1 for hand held tablets or touch screen technology, like
they should have in the first place, but something tells me that just isn’t
going to happen any time soon…”thank you Microsoft.” So whether consumers
of Microsoft products like it or not we are all sort of stuck with whatever
    they throw at us.
Now that I think about it that policy of making changes, whether users like
them or not, sounds similar to another internet giant out there that does
    the same thing named Google!
As far as my desk top PC goes I am definitely sticking with windows 7
Does anyone else feel the same way about this???

I just don’t get Apps and why I have to have them, most of them are
useless. You have 24″ screen with a few lines of text and a Button, it’s
    got a button !!!
And you can have one “App” on the screen at the same time !!, again useless
So if you refuse to use Apps, what good is
And they still haven’t fixed the Bugs from Win7 File Explorer

  5. Zenthar says:

if i get classic shell will it be like windows 7?

  6. Erin Puzo says:

I don’t know what I think of this. Can I get a business review that shows
the classic functions that working people use computers for? (Word, ppt,
excel, email, music, photo, program and storage management?) I do not care
about personalizing and making a computer too pretty and I am trying to
decide if my next computer will be a pc or a mac. Advice or recommended
    reviews?

The best thing about Windows 8 is that it isn’t on my other computer!

  12. Pychotomimetic says:

I hate how dumbed down windows 8 is, why copy apple? I’d make the full move
to Linux but I hate running things through wine so many things don’t work.

  13. naiveyuu says:

I hated Windows 8 when it came out. I made myself learn the OS and loved
    every bit of it. :)

  14. harold562 says:

All this good and all, but what does it do for us who don’t use computers
for their looks, or their social networks? Don’t get me wrong but I use my
desktop for gaming and messing around, not to make it cuter or phone
dumbed. I have both my tablet and phone for that, and also my iPod for
media playing, so what’s the big upgrade difference? Still looks like made
    for tablets, not actual desktops.

  15. jacksback moore says:

    you ;-)

  21. EnergyMatter says:

At some point I decided on dual-booting Linux, so I’m not forced to use
    Windows 8.

  22. Aaron Dyson says:

When I updated to 8.1 I lost the ability to personalize my start menu
(colors). It goes strait to control panel personalization like windows 7.
What do I do/what is wrong?

  23. Tom T says:

I like windows 8, a lot of people seem to be suffering from hive mind
mentality when their hating on it

  24. Mihkellt says:

I know that alot of you hate win 8 but i must say that on a laptop it makes
a lot of sense since you can use your trackpad to navigate and scroll on
pages. Also it runs unbelievebly fast on older laptop with 2 cores.

  25. Ritchie Becker says:

Windows 8 = crap, thats it
